The thing about losing - failing

The thing about losing...

The thing about losing is that it’s more than watching them raise your opponent’s hand in that minute. It’s more than replaying the moment it went wrong the following day. You see, losing doesn’t happen in a vacuum, so it bears the weight of all the growth and change you’ve undergone. Losing isn’t about your sole sacrifice anymore. Your loss is now coupled with the sacrifice of everyone who loves and supports you, and that can feel immense. But this is the thing about losing; you can’t allow it to change your perspective. Sometimes the feelings that accompany a loss take up residence in your heart and make it nearly impossible to remember the who, what, and why of your choices. Because losing requires you to confront your reality, and losing isn’t the reality anyone voluntarily chooses for himself. You reflect from here; you thank God from here. But you don’t settle in here! And you certainly don’t make decisions from here. The thing about losing is that it shows you who loves you. It shows you who is willing to dig in next to you and fight for your dreams, too. The thing about losing is that sometimes it’s really not so bad after all. Sometimes it’s exactly the reset you need to see where you’re headed next.

Don’t be scared to fail - to lose!

Don’t give up and don’t stop!

Failure is the rungs on the ladder to success!

"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan
